Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 wheel brie cheese 170-500 grams/5-8 ounces - or larger*

For serving (optional)

  • Plain or toasted baguette slices** optional
  • Honey optional
  • Fresh fruit optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 325ºF (160ºC) for at least 3 minutes, or according to your manufacturer's instructions.
  • Cut a piece of parchment paper to the size of your air fryer, then crinkle it by balling it up in your fist. Smooth it out, then add your unwrapped wheel of brie in the middle.

  • Place the parchment paper and brie in your preheated air fryer basket and cook for 9-11 minutes, or until the center is easily depressed with your thumb and gooey in the middle.

  • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your choice of toppings and dippers. I recommend toasted baguette slices, honey, and fresh fruit (like grapes, apples, and pears).

Notes

Storage: Transfer leftovers to an airtight container and keep refrigerated. Store for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave in 20-30 second intervals until soft and gooey in the center.
*Different sizes of brie: If you’re shopping at the grocery store, chances are you’ll be purchasing a wheel that is 1 pound (454 grams) or smaller. These smaller wheels need less time, while large wheels may need more time. The most important thing is to check for doneness by pressing the center. This is the best indicator that your cheese is done.
  • Small: 7-10 minutes
  • Medium: 9-11 minutes
  • Large: 10-13 minutes
Don’t overcook: The cheese will harden if you overcook it - so make sure to check it often to ensure it’s just right.
With puff pastry: Wrap the cheese in a sheet of puff pastry and brush with an egg wash. Cook at 360ºF (180ºC) for 14-20 minutes, or until golden brown with a soft center.
Serving options: Honey, nuts, fruit preserves, apple slices, pear slices, grapes, crostini, crusty bread, white wine, etc.
**Toasted baguette slices: Slice a baguette into ¼” slices and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with olive oil (with parsley, if desired) and sprinkle with flaky salt. Bake in a 375ºF oven for 10-14 minutes, or until golden brown on the edges. Alternatively, they can be air fried at 325ºF (160ºC) for 3-4 minutes.
